A 2012 report by the Natural Resources Defense Council estimated that as much as 40% of the nation’s food supply goes to waste. Food to Share, the community partner in Colony Energy’s CalRecycle funded project, will work diligently to address this and contribute to a lasting solution to hunger in California’s Central Valley while improving air quality. The project represents a unique opportunity to increase access to nutritious food for underserved communities in Fresno County and make significant contributions to regional air quality and greenhouse gas reductions through waste diversion.
