On July 1, 2003, Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Parish in Clovis CA established Saint Martha’s Pantry as a means of outreach in a large part of the Fresno-Clovis Metropolitan Area and the surrounding rural areas. As a part of the Parish's Social Justice and Peace Mission, the Pantry's volunteers work to provide nutritious food to families and individuals in need, regardless of religious affiliation, race or circumstance. Families can qualify for one standard distribution per month, which provides for their basic needs for about one week. We also provide special packages for emergencies and for the homeless. In addition, an extra distribution is made for Easter, Thanksgiving and Christmas.

Our 35 volunteers come from all walks of life. They are very dedicated and well trained to serve the average of 400 families per month. Strong support and participation by OLPH parishioners makes all this possible through financial support and food donations. Much support is also provided by various other churches including Divine Mercy Catholic Parish and Holy Spirit Catholic Parish. Additionally, many local businesses and individuals are generous in supporting St. Martha's Pantry. The Pantry does not receive any government funding.

St. Martha's Pantry serves those who reside in ZIP Codes 93611, 93612, 93619, 93626, 93650, 93651, 93667, 93710, 93720, 93726, 93727, 93730, and 93737 and whose total family income is below 150% of the Federal Poverty Level. Homeless patrons do not have to meet the ZIP Code requirement.

In fiscal year 2016-2017, St. Martha's Pantry provided 6,900 distributions of food to 5,597 families with 15,000 persons. Each distribution contained approximately 20,000 calories and weighed about 20 pounds. Presently the distributions are high in carbohydrates and low protein, but we are working to make the distribution more nutritious by increasing dairy, fresh produce and whole grains.
